We’re here to make Brisbane Australia’s most sustainable city.  We act as a sustainability agency for Brisbane and strive to protect the future of our city.

We live and breathe sustainability through innovative projects that help cut the city’s carbon footprint and also make good economic sense. 

We’re the common thread between business, community, the Government and Brisbane City Council to forge powerful partnerships to get real results. We also run sustainability events for the community on behalf of Council.

Message from Lord Mayor Graham Quirk

As the Lord Mayor of Brisbane, one of my top priorities is to make Brisbane the cleanest and greenest city in Australia.

As well as the many environmental initiatives Brisbane City Council has in place, CitySmart is responsible for developing sustainability outcomes for Brisbane. This is achieved through innovative projects that not only help cut the city’s carbon footprint but encourage community and business to live more sustainably.

CitySmart has been instrumental in implementing the EzyGreen energy reduction program. By helping residents to offset their carbon usage through free and discounted offers and appliances, it is bringing Brisbane one step closer towards becoming a carbon neutral city by 2026.

CitySmart is also responsible for organising Council’s calendar of community-based sustainability events, including regular suburban Green Ups and bi-annual Green Heart Fairs that promote sustainable solutions in a fun, family-friendly environment.

I look forward to working with CitySmart and its corporate partners as we strive to protect the future of our city by making Brisbane cleaner, greener and more sustainable.
