webby_awardWe’re thrilled to announce that our Reduce Your Juice project is an Honoree at this year’s Webby Awards!

Known in the industry as the “Oscars of the Internet”, Reduce Your Juice was selected against 13,000 entries from 65 countries.

The CitySmart project is the only Queenslander to be recognised at this year’s awards.

“The US-based awards are known within the industry as the internet’s highest honour, with Reduce Your Juice acknowledged as an outstanding entry,” said Lord Mayor Graham Quirk.

“This is a great result and congratulations to the team at CitySmart for developing such a forward-thinking and innovative program,” he said.

The Federally-funded program included the development of an interactive approach that has helped young low-income renters improve energy habits by an average of 22.5%. From the initial trial program run by in Brisbane, this equates to an average saving of $58 on users’ first power bill.

“The project is an excellent example of world-first innovation and how new digital tools can support a more sustainable and affordable way of living for low-income Australians,” said CitySmart CEO Neil Horrocks.

“This can extend beyond power savings into addressing other challenges, such as managing waste or saving water,” he said.

The Webbys accolade builds upon the project’s recognition, having won the Best Residential Energy Efficiency Project at the 2015 National Energy Efficiency Awards.

Reduce Your Juice was designed in collaboration with Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and digital agency BCM
