To maintain Brisbane's liveability we all need to take steps to lead a more sustainable lifestyle, which means reducing our water and energy use, recycling more and minimising our impact on the natural environment.

Our vision is to make our city a world leader in environmental management and sustainability.

To do this we need to reduce Brisbane's household carbon emissions from 16 tonnes to 10 tonnes per year by 2012, with the eventual aim to make Brisbane carbon neutral by 2026.

Our mission is to educate, engage and unite Brisbane's business, industry and community behind achieving Brisbane's common sustainability goals.

Clean Up Australia, Brisbane City Council and City Smart Pty Ltd have teamed up in 2010 to bring you the best Clean Up Australia Day yet.

2010 marks the 20th Anniversary of Clean Up Australia Day and we hope to encourage and inspire thousands of Australians to take to their local park, beach, bushland and streets and really help make a difference.

Clean Up Australia remains Australia's largest community event, it is fun, easy and anyone and everyone can get involved in. Individuals and local groups can either organise a clean up site or volunteer to join an existing site.
